Calabar – The Chairman, Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Cross River Council, Mr Victor Udu, on Wednesday, charged members of the National Association of Cross River Students (NACRISS) to take their studies serious.
Udu gave this advice when the association led by its president, Mr Mbang Confidence, paid him a courtesy visit at the NUJ Press Centre in Calabar.
He also urged them to shun any acts capable of tarnishing the image of their families or careers.
According to him, take your studies serious because that is what makes you a student in the first place.
“Don’t allow anything that can push you into crime take a centre stage in your life and try as much as you can to avoid temptations to go into crime.
“Keep away from bad companies and do not be a willing tool in the hands of mischief makers,” Udu said.
He assured the students of the union’s readiness to partner with them during his tenure.
The NACRISS president, in his own reaction, said that the new executives were inaugurated last July.
According to him, they were in NUJ to seek the cooperation of the media in carrying out their activities.
Mbang, a 400 level student of Law, University of Calabar, thanked the NUJ for granting them audience.
