NURTW chieftain, ‘Tokyo,’ not on police wanted list—Counsel

not on the wanted list of the police, his counsel, Mr Debo Adeleke, has said.
Adeleke stated this on Wednesday   while reacting speculations that Akinsola,  popularly known as Tokyo, was on the wanted list of the police.
The counsel, in a made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), said  Akinsola was never on the wanted list of  the police in connection the violence in Ibadan on June 4, 2011.
“To put the records  straight, our client, Alhaji Lateef Akinsola (a.k.a Tokyo),  was never wanted and he is still not wanted in connection with the mayhem and unfortunate violence that occurred at Iwo road on June 4, 2011.
“Shortly after the incident, the invited our client for interrogation after which our client approached the Ibadan in suit no FHC/IB/CS/95/2011.
“  He was not only exonerated but discharged and acquitted for the alleged unfortunate incident,’’  he said.
Adeleke said  retired Justice J.E. Shakarho  delivered the on Dec. 20, 2011, adding that   it would be wrong for anyone to insinuate that his client was involved in any murder case or violence  in the state.
He said any statement or publication to the contrary would denigrate his client and bring him to public ridicule.  (NAN)
