ADO-EKITI – The Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT), in Ekiti State on Sunday commended Gov. Kayode Fayemi for the recent elevation of some secondary school principals to Grade Level 17.
This is contained in a letter to the governor signed by state Chairman and Secretary of NUT, Mr Kayode Akosile and Mr Ola Idris respectively, and a copy given to News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Ado-Ekiti.
The letter described the gesture as a “clear testimony that the welfare and well-being of teachers are paramount to the State Government.’’
According to the statement, the governor’s gesture will spur teachers to continue to put in their best in the collective efforts to improve the standard of education in the state.
It also pledged continued support for government’s programmes and policies geared toward uplifting the standard of education in the state.
The NUT, however, drew the governor’s attention to the plight of graduate teachers in primary schools that are also looking unto government for their elevation. (NAN)
