Ibadan – The Oyo State National Youth Service Corps on Wednesday urged stakeholders to warmly receive corps members in their communities in line with the objectives of the programme.
A statement in Ibadan by Mr Stephen Bankole, the NYSC Head of Public Relations in Oyo, said that majority of the Corps members deployed to the state were there for the first time and should be treated with love and care.
The statement solicited the assistance of local government chairmen and other employers of corps members to provide vehicles to convey those posted to their local government areas.
“The over 1,700 corps members registered in the state were inducted at the swearing-in ceremony on April 29 by the representative of the state’s Chief Judge.
“The members went through vigorous military drills, citizenship training, professional lectures and personal development exercises.
“However, the most exciting part of the three weeks course is the zeal with which the course participants embraced the skills acquisition and entrepreneur development programme,’’ it said.
The statement said that Gov. Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo state would preside over the parade and declare the orientation course closed.
The 2016 Batch ‘A’ orientation course closing parade would be held on Friday, May 13. (NAN)
