The Taraba Coordinator of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Mr Anthony Nzoka, on Friday charged corps members of job creation.
Nzoka gave the charge at the Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) exhibition by the 2021 Batch B Stream II corps members.
The corps members were undergoing orientation course at the NYSC permanent orientation camp, Sibre, near Jalingo.
The State Coordinator urged the corps members to take the skills acquired seriously and further perfect them to create jobs for the nation.
“These skills you have acquired, you need time to master and I want to urge you all to develop the skills for a great future.
“The labour market is becoming saturated by the day: with these skills you have acquired, you can create jobs for the nation and contribute to the growth of our economy.
“I appeal to you to use your service year to be mentored by your trainers so that you can become employers of labour after your service year.
“The Bank of Industry (BOI) and the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) have funding windows for entrepreneurs.
“I urge you to tap into these opportunities to become self-sufficient and make the nation and your families proud,” he said.
Earlier, the Head of SAED, Mr Saidu Japhet, said the corps members did very well during the training.
He urged them to use the skills acquired to help themselves and the society when they leave the orientation camp.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the corps members mounted different exhibition stands of items they produced.
Such items include shoes, bags, detergents, baked products, clothes and aluminium work.
