The one-year mandatory national service scheme for university and polytechnic graduates under 30 years age may soon witness an overhaul.
The national conference has said the scheme must be repositioned for relevant youth empowerment and that the one-year programme should be split into three phases as follows: One month in camp, six months of primary assignment, integration and industrial exposure and the remaining five months to be devoted to vocational and entrepreneurial skills acquisition.
