NYSC trains 1,576 corps members on skills acquisition in Gombe

Akko (Gombe)  –   No fewer than 1,576 of 2018 batch ‘A’ Corps members posted to Gombe State had been successfully trained on various skills acquisition, an official has disclosed.

Mr Ukwenya Owoicho, Assistant Director, Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED).disclosed this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Amada, Akko Local Government Area of the State on Wednesday.
He said all the corps members had been fully engaged on the programme.
“Out of the 1,624 corps members posted to the state, 1,576 were involved in various SAED programmes and the exhibition that was conducted testify to that fact,” he said.
According to him, the corps members were trained on about 15 different skills which includes cosmetology, Agroalid, food processing, culture and tourism, among others.

“Their participation was wonderful. Guests that came to the camp bought many of their products.
“My advice to them is to continue with the post-camp training to be able to learn more about the skills they started in camp , he said.
He also urged the beneficiaries to know how to market their goods, while calling on the public to patronize them.

According to him, most the products were good and cheaper than the foreign ones. (NAN)
