Olusegun Obasanjo and Abdulsalami Abubakar Former football legend, George Weah, has been sworn in as Liberia new president, the BBC reports. The swearing-in ceremony which took place at a stadium on the outskirts of Monrovia was graced by thousand including Nigeria’s former leaders, Olusegun Obasanjo and Abdulsalami Abubakar.
Also at the event include other notable football stars from Liberia and across the world. Weah is taking over power from the former president of Liberia, Ellen Johnson Sirleaf.

Former president Olusegun Obasanjo and Abdulsalami Abubakar were at the inauguration.
This particular handover ceremony is the first between two democratically elected leaders in Liberia since 1944.

The ex-football star says that Liberians should be ready for many positive changes in the country from him.
President Jacob Zuma had earlier noted that he will not be attending the inauguration ceremony.
