AWKA – Gov. Willie Obiano of Anambra State on Tuesday signed a memorandum of understanding with Rockland Development Ltd for the construction of 1,000 housing units for workers in the state.
Obiano, who was represented by the Head of Service, Mr Chidi Ezeoke, said the move was to demonstrate the state government’s concern with the welfare of its workers.
He urged the private developer to keep to the terms of the agreement and ensure that the project was completed on schedule.
The governor urged the firm to bring its wealth of experience to bear on the project to actualise the dream of the present administration for the workers.
Responding, the Managing Director of the firm, Mr Obi Eneh, thanked the state government for the confidence reposed in the firm and promised to deliver the job on schedule.
The governor recently handed four 38-seater buses to the head of service to ease the transportation of the workers. (NAN)
