MINNA – The governing council of the Nigerian Examinations Council (NECO) has appointed Mr Ebikibina John Ogborodi as the acting registrar of the examination body.
Mr Ebikibina John Ogborodi should be appointed to act pending when the president will appoint a substantive registrar/Chief executive of NECO.
According to memo signed by Mr. Mustapha Abdul, director of human resources on Wednesday (today), Mr Ogborodi was appointed in acting capacity pending the appointment of a substantive registrar following the death on Monday night of the registrar of the council, Prof Godswill Obioma.
Ogborodi is the most senior director after Obioma in NECO.
There had been confusion over the circumstance of Obioma’s death.
While his wife said he was killed in his house in Minna; his eldest son said he died of heart failure in his sleep (apparently at home); and the police said he died at the National hospital, Abuja.
