Beginning from today, Sir Jonas Odocha, chairman/CEO, Jonakod Nig. Ltd, will be writing a weekly column for SundiataPost.
Sir Odocha holds a degree in geology from the University of Ibadan [1973] and postgraduate degrees in Petroleum Geology and Sedimentology from Imperial College, London [1978]. He began his career in the petroleum industry with Mobil Producing Nigeria in 1973 as a wellsite geologist and later joined the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, rising to position of Group General Manager, Human Resources.
Earlier he had been seconded to Nigeria LNG Ltd as General Manager, Human Resources.
He is a fellow and former national president, Nigerian Mining and Geosciences Society and founding secretary and fellow, Nigerian Association of Petroleum Explorationists, among other professional bodies.
Sir Odocha, who is the author of ‘THE WAY WE ARE: Ideas for a better Nigeria’, enjoys lawn tennis and cycling.
He is married to Ngozi and both are blessed with four children and seven grandchildren.
