Akanle gave the advice on Friday during inspection and monitoring of some public secondary schools in Ondo Central Senatorial District.
He advised them to always take their jobs seriously as lapses on their part would affect the students [pro_ad_display_adzone id=”10″]negatively.
“Teachers should always be willing to do their duties and shouldn’t be slow to do their jobs.
“This monitoring is not to witch-hunt, so let us know your problems because we are all partners and we[pro_ad_display_adzone id=”10″] care for you,” he said
The director advised teachers to always keep their libraries organised for easy references and that all books should be kept in the library.
Akanle enjoined the teachers to keep up with the good works, promising that some newly employed [pro_ad_display_adzone id=”10″]teachers would soon join them to alleviate the problem of lack of teachers for some subjects.
Mrs Bridget Agbonoga, the Principal, C.A.C. Grammar School, Idanre, thanked Ondo State Government for the funds made available to the school.
She enumerated some of the challenges facing the school, which she said, included lack of students, staff, infrastructure, and security.
“We don’t have anything to attract these students.
“This is why we have less than 500, while we need laboratories and teachers to handle subjects like mathematics and basic sciences, among others.
“I therefore appeal to the state government to help us renovate some of the structures,” She said.
Mr Adebowale Kikiowo, the Principal, Methodist High School, Idanre, commended the state government for the monitoring exercise, which he said, would promote effective teaching.
“I also commend our teachers because they are always punctual and hardworking.
“The trend of education in Ondo State is encouraging and I believe that we are now getting it right,” he said.
Schools visited include C.A.C United, Aule, Akure, Alakure Comprehensive High School, Akure, Igoba Community Grammar School, Igoba, Akure, among others. (NAN)
