Abeokuta – The Ogun Ministry of Education on Wednesday said that its primary and secondary schools would begin their third term holidays for the 2014/2015 session from Aug. 3 to Sept. 14.
Mrs Folashade Oresegun, the Director of Education Support Services, Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, made the remark in a statement in Abeokuta.
She said that schools were expected to resume for the 1st term activities of the 2015/2016 academic session on Sept. 14.
The statement urged parents and guardians to take proper care of their children and wards during the holidays.

It also stated that registration of pupils, under the Universal Basic Education Programme into primary one in public schools, would commence from Aug. 3.
It advised parents and guardians to register their children in public primary schools nearest to them, while head teachers were enjoined to register eligible six-year- old children into primary one.
The statement said that registration of children with special needs would also take place in their respective schools located in Abeokuta, Sagamu, Ijebu-Ode, Ijebu Igbo and Ilaro.
It said that the registration of this category of children was free, and would end on Aug. 28.
The statement advised parents and guardians to visit the nearest Zonal Education Offices for further information. (NAN)
