The Ogun State Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines, and Agriculture (OGUNCCIMA) has commended Dangote Industries Limited (DIL) for its ongoing contributions to economic growth and sustainability in Ogun State.
Speaking in Abeokuta ahead of the 14th Gateway International Trade Fair, OGUNCCIMA President, Lion Niyi Oshiyemi, described Dangote Group as a long-term partner and one of Africa’s most influential business conglomerates. He noted that the company’s continued participation in the fair highlights its significance as a center for commerce, innovation, and economic exchange.
Oshiyemi praised the company for its impact on both the state and national economies, stating that Dangote has consistently supported the trade fair and demonstrated its commitment to corporate social responsibility.
“Your remarkable contributions to this fair and to the Nigerian economy at large are highly commendable. In the same vein, your presence here today reaffirms the significance of the Gateway International Trade Fair as a hub for commerce, innovation, and economic exchange,” Oshiyemi said.
He also expressed gratitude to Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, for fostering a business-friendly environment that has positioned the state as a key investment destination. He noted that the state government’s support has helped the trade fair grow into a premier platform for business networking, innovation, and investment promotion.
According to Oshiyemi, the trade fair has been a major driver of economic transformation for over a decade, facilitating collaborations between local and international businesses, investors, policymakers, and consumers.
This year’s edition, themed “Promoting Businesses through Partnership,” emphasizes the importance of strategic alliances in expanding business opportunities, strengthening industries, and boosting economic growth. He added that beyond business transactions, the fair serves as a melting pot for cultures, ideas, and innovations, urging businesses to embrace partnerships, technology, and sustainability to remain competitive in the global market.
