Abuja -The new Secretary-General of Cross River chapter of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Mr Alozie Ugochukwu, has assured Igbos in Calabar that his tenure will usher in progress and development.

Ugochukwu made the pledge in an interview with News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja.

The secretary-general, who was on a private visit in Abuja, told NAN that his emergence was a great honour and a clarion call to serve.

He said he was truly grateful to all Igbos residents in Cross River for the confidence reposed in him.

“We are servant-leaders, therefore, we promise to give you quality leadership such that will help to lift Ndigbo from one glorious height to another,’’ he said.

Ugochukwu also urged Igbo people in Cross River to support the government of Gov. Ben Ayade.

He commended the people-oriented of the government as well as the enabling environment which the governor had created for businesses to thrive in the state.
