ABUJA – The Chairman of Police Service Commission, Mr Mike Okiro, has congratulated Mr Suleiman Abba on his appointment as Acting Inspector-General of Police.
Abba replaced Mr Mohammed Abubakar who bowed out of the force on Wednesday, having attained the mandatory 35 years in service.
In a statement signed by Mr Ferdinand Ekpe, Deputy Director, Public Relations of the commission on Thursday, Okiro advised Abba to rise to the challenges of his new appointment.
The chairman said that he was convinced that the new I-G would bring “new perspectives’’ in search of solutions to the current security threats confronting the nation.
He said his conviction was based on the fact that Abba was a tested officer who had served in various command positions in the force.
Until his appointment, Abba was the Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of Zone 7 (Kaduna, Niger and FCT). (NAN)
