OWERRI – Gov. Rochas Okorocha of Imo has called on Nigerians to unite and shun politics of deceit.
Okorocha made the call on Monday in Owerri while addressing All Progressive Congress (APC) Local Government Party Chairmen from the 36 states of the federation who were in Imo to celebrate his 52nd Birthday.
He said that he had transformed Imo with developmental projects in three years and fought kidnapping to zero point.
The governor urged APC members to participate in the ongoing Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) voter registration to enable them to cast their votes during the 2015 general elections. [eap_ad_1] Okorocha said that Nigeria could only be better if the masses elected a credible leader to rule the country.
He thanked APC chairmen for honouring his invitation and assured them that he would not relent in enhancing the welfare of the less privileged in the society
He said that his mission in Nigeria had not been actualised as a result of the activities of the elite who denied him several opportunities to serve his people.
The governor said he was inspired to join politics to render humanitarian services to the less privileged in the society.
The governor’s birthday was celebrated with a lot of funfair with many dignitaries in attendance. (NAN)
