The ambience, peace and the spirit of camaraderie that characterised the emergence of Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa as the Governor-Elect of Delta State is a manifestation of the fact that Deltans have entered a new threshold on the road to building a hub for development in Nigeria.

Indeed, the good people of the state are the real winners in April 11 poll for choosing the path of continuity and prosperity by voting the candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP). By electing Senator Okowa, people have opted to consolidate our march towards building a Delta State that will drive the economic and social development of our country. The outcome is an enduring affirmation of the people’s confidence in the developmental strides of His Excellency, Dr. Emmanuel Eweta Uduaghan, CON, Governor of Delta State and the ability of the Dr. Okowa to move the state forward.

The challenge before all Deltans is to leverage on the new spirit of entrepreneurship encapsulated in the Delta Beyond Oil initiative Dr. Uduaghan to key into his successor’s drive of making the people prosperous. And the joy for all Deltans is the emergence of somebody with unprecedented acceptance and followership across all the diverse ethnic groups in the state.

We thank Dr. Uduaghan for driving the transparent process that led to the emergence of Dr. Okowa with a pan-Delta mandate that has united the people of Delta State.

We congratulate Sen. Ifeanyi Okowa, Governor-Elect of Delta State, on his resounding victory and call on the people to extend their usual goodwill and cooperation to him as he gears up to take the state to the next level.

Signed
