Omoyele Sowore, the presidential candidate of the African Action Congress in the 2023 elections, was reportedly attacked on Saturday morning by suspected thugs at the Lagos City Marathon.
The attackers also targeted journalists covering the event, injuring several people and damaging cameras and other equipment.
A video obtained by our correspondent showed the moment thugs physically assaulted Sowore, his team members, and journalists at the scene.
In the footage, one of the assailants was seen grabbing a journalist by the neck while he was holding his camera.
