Abuja – Mr Aidi-Bolarinwa Elijah, an member of Unity Party of Nigeria (UPN) and aspirant in the Nov. 26 governorship election in Ondo state, has promised to reposition the state, if given the opportunity.
Elijah, who will face other aspirants in UPN’s primary election on Saturday, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in a telephone interview in Abuja on Friday that he would re-activate moribund people-oriented programmes.
He said that development programmes and policies of late Chief Obafemi Awolowo, which were jettisoned by successive administrations in the state and South-West would be revisited.
“My plan is to accelerate the development of Ondo State through provision of basic functional social amenities and infrastructure, if given the mandate.
“I will also harness and exploit the vast, but untapped agricultural and solid mineral resources in Ondo to boost the economic fortunes of the state,’’ Elijah said.
He added that it was high time for the people of the state to consider a credible candidate who was ready and determined to serve them.
“The people of Ondo State now have alternative credible choice because of the crisis rocking the Peoples Democratic Party and the All Progressive Congress,’’ he said.
The aspirant, therefore, called on the delegates to the primary to endorse him to deliver the state out of the “woods’’.
