Ondo FA not focusing on Sunshine FC alone – Akinbobola

Ondo State Football AgencyAKURE – The Ondo State Football Agency (ODSFA) said on Saturday that it was not focusing on Sunshine Stars FC alone in the state.

The Chairman of Ondo State Football Agency, Mr Akin Akinbobola, told zonal coordinators and coaches from the three senatorial districts that the agency had three other clubs in its care.

Akinbobola , who addresses the officials during a meeting to fine tune the 2014 Pre-Mimiko International Soccer Tournament, said the others teams were Rising Stars, Rising Queens and Sunshine Queens.

He said the U- 20 tournament was aimed at catching young talented footballers who would represent the state during Mimiko International Soccer Tournament.

“Hard work is about to begin at ODSFA, we expect a high level of tournament in each of the local governments. We want the coordinators to select genuine U-20 players.

“Consult with your community to get involved in this project.  Also, we will expect you to indigenise your team, let the name of your clubs come from your area.
“We want to have three teams to represent Ondo State; this tournament will help us to discover talents hidden in other regions.

“We didn’t abandoned academy, we are not facing sunshine alone. Once this tourney is successful, we will try and hold it and engage them in a state league,’’ Akinbobola said.

He said the agency had requested for six hummer buses and 18 motorcycles to be distributed across the three senatorial districts to facilitate their performances.

The Coordinator of  Owo Zone, Wale  Ifabumuyi, told newsmen after the meeting that the coaches had been working even before the meeting to make the competition a competitive one.

An Assistant Director, Akure Zone, Segun Bademosi, said “we are fully ready, we are promising to do more than what have been done in the past years.’’ (NAN)[eap_ad_3]
