ONDO (Sundiata Post) – Mr Kunle Ajayi, the Governorship Candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC) for the Nov. 16 Ondo State Governorship Election, says he will not mismanage or privatise the state’s resources if elected as governor.
Ajayi made the promise on Sunday in Akure while speaking on his preparedness ahead of the governorship election in the state.
The candidate explained that his party was out to rebuild the state for the betterment of all citizens and residents.
“The time has come for people to vote out parties with bad policies and governance. AAC as a party, has the best slogan and manifestos which is collective wealth and collective welfare.
“As a candidate, we are not going to privatise the wealth of Ondo State like it has been done by others, that’s mismanage the state resources, if elected.
“Rather, we will rebuild the industries like Owena Holdings, Okitipupa Oil Palm Plc, Ifon Ceramic, Araromi-Obu Rubber Estate and others.
“Also, we will give free quality education at all levels, functional health care services, even embark on housing scheme for the citizens, because Ondo State has enough wealth to do it.
“Some people will tell you that is not doable, but let them know that Pa Adekunle Ajasin did it within three years of his government then, even when the state was not buoyant like it is now.
“For us, if people are really interested in getting a new government, they should vote for collective wealth that will transform and sustain to collective welfare.
“So if you vote for AAC, you have voted for collective wealth and collective welfare, not for private individuals or groups,” Ajayi said.
He, therefore, appealed to the electorate to turn out massively for the ongoing Permanent Voters Cards (PVC) collection in the state.
The candidate, however, called on Independence National Electoral Commission (INEC) to be neutral in the conduct of the Nov.16 election.
“Most people don’t vote because of government’s bad policies, but the time has come for them to use their PVCs to punish the ruling class party.
“Use your PVCs to punish parties claiming to be the big party with bad policies and governance, and vote for AAC,” Ajayi said.
