Igbokoda – Mr Agunola Omomowo, the Executive Chairman of Ilaje Local Government of Ondo State, has advised his councilors to fulfill their electioneering promises.
He said that fulfillment of the promises would justify the confidence reposed in them by the electorate.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the advice was given on Wednesday at the swearing-in ceremony of 12 elected councilors at the LGA in Igbokoda.
Omomowo also called for the co-operation of the executive arm of the local government and urged them to shun unnecessary misunderstanding.
He advised that peace should be the watchword rather than violence.
“I urge all our councilors to fulfill all electioneering promises to justify the confidence reposed in you by the electorate.
“I also solicit for the co-operation of citizens of the local government as this administration is poised to make life meaningful to them irrespective of party affiliation,” he said.
Omomowo promised to run an open door policy, stressing that his administration would be transparent and accountable to the citizens.
NAN reports that some prominent leaders at the swearing-in ceremony included Chief Sola Ebiseni, the Commissioner for Environment, who is also the gubernatorial aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party.
Others were Mr Oluwole Ogunyemi, the Chairman, Ondo State Oil Producing Area Development Commission (OSOPADEC), Mr Abayomi Akinruntan, a member, the State House of Assembly, representing Ilaje 1.
Mr Banji Okunomo, the state PDP Publicity Secretary, Mr Otito Atikase, the Special Assistant to Gov. Olusegun Mimiko and Chief Debo Ajimuda, a former Chairman of OSOPADEC, were also present. (NAN)
