Abuja (Sundiata Post) – The presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi has said that Onitsha Harbour Industrial Estate needs federal government’s assistance to overcome the infrastructural losses suffered from the recent floods.
Obi, who stated this after on Sunday via his twitter handle @PeterObi after he visited the areas affected by the flood to ascertain the level of damage caused, described the industrial estate as the seat of organised private sector.
His tweet reads:
“Yesterday, I visited the Onitsha Harbour Industrial Estate, the seat of organised private sector in Anambra State. Majority of the industries there suffered infrastructural losses from the recent floods, plus the added burden production and manpower hour losses.
They will need Federal assistance. -PO”.
Sundiata Post recalls few days back the former Anambra state governor paid a similar visit to Bayelsa State and remarked that the level of damage and displaced people far outweighed the devastating havoc of the 2012 flood in the state.
