Ooni of Ife, Oba Sijuade dies at 85

The Ooni of Ife, Oba Okunade Sijuwade, is dead. He died on Tuesday, July 28, at the age of 85.
The circumstance surrounding his is clear but reports reaching Sundiata Post indicate that the news of the passing revered traditional ruler has thrown Osun State, especially his town, Ife, into confusion and mourning.
Osun governor, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, is said have been informed about the development.
Oba Sijuade became the 50th monarch or  Ooni of Ife on December 6, 1980, taking the title Olubuse II.
He was one of the most respected monarch Nigeria. He, along with the late Emir if Kano, Alhaji Ado Bayero, we’re sanctioned by the military regime of then General Muhammadu Buhari for visiting the of Israel at a time was yet restore diplomatic ties with the Jewish State.
