As Super Falcons intensify preparations for the All Africa Games qualifier this weekend against Mali, the team was boosted with the arrival of France-based forward, Desire Oparanozie. Oparanozie, who arrived camp on Monday night, shortly before dinner, said her mind is set as she is focused on the task ahead.
“There is nothing unusual to expect; I’m still the same Desire, I’m in camp now and I’m here to be on top of my game and be at my best at every given time. I won’t say this is what I am going to bring because it is not all about me; we are a team so we have to work together and hopefully the results will come out positive. I am very sure and positive we will crush Mali here,” Oparanozie said.[pro_ad_display_adzone id=”10”]
Though Oparanozie said she was disappointed Falcons did not qualify for the Games last time, she expressed joy at having a second chance to make amends.
“You know they say once beaten twice shy. I have always dreamt of playing in the AAG and Olympics and will relish this golden opportunity to be at the All Africa Games. We will get it right this time by God’s grace and our qualification is sure” she stated.
