LAGOS (Sundiata Post) – Afrobeats singer Orezi has shared insights into why his presence in the music industry has waned in recent years.
Speaking during a recent appearance on Hip TV’s Trending, the “Ogede” crooner admitted that his decline was largely due to a drop in ambition and stepping away from the competitive nature of the industry.
“I faded out [of the music industry] because I became less ambitious and comfortable with where I am,” Orezi revealed. “I was always on vacation, enjoying myself. I became less ambitious and took myself out of the competition [in the music industry].”
He stressed the importance of staying consistent and used superstar Davido as an example of someone who continues to push despite already reaching great heights.
“Competition fuels consistency. Look at Davido for example, he hustles like an underground artist. He has money and fame but he still maintains his hustling spirit,” he said.
Orezi’s candid reflection sheds light on the challenges artists face in maintaining longevity in the ever-evolving Nigerian music landscape.
