Osaguona disappointed at Rangers’ low rating

RANGERSNigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) joint leading scorer, Christian Osaguona has expressed disappointment at Enugu Rangers’ present position on the log, stating that the Flying Antelopes’ on-pitch performances do not deserve the low rating.
Osaguona, who was yesterday invited to be part of the Super Eagles squad to play against Congo and South Africa next month, has fired home 13 goals in the league this season and is currently joint top scorer with Bayelsa United’s Peter Ebimobowei.
Bbut the former 3SC striker has lamented his club’s present 15th position with 31 points from 24 matches and only two points away from the relegation zone.[eap_ad_2]
The forward complained that some bad officiating, especially the match officials’ handling of their Week 23 league tie against Kano Pillars which they lost 3-2, was just one of the several cases of calls that have gone against his club in the current campaign.
Osaguona however charged the League Management Company (LMC) to ensure that they keep close tab on the remaining league matches of the season and sanction erring match officials that are bent on dragging the image of the country in the mud due to their poor handling of league games.
“I am not a happy man as I talk to you now. We are not doing very well on the league table because of no fault of ours. The match officials have ruined some of our league outings and we have been helpless judging by the level of bad officiating that have marred our away fixtures especially,” Osaguona told Goal.
“We didn’t deserve to lose against Kano Pillars and in some key away fixtures where results have gone against us.
“We deserve something better and I am appealing to the LMC and others that are concerned to ensure that we get a good league that will attract good investors,” he said.
Osaguona’s 13 goals have all come from open play so far. His impressive form has earned him call up to the Super Eagles as they prepare to face the Red Devils and Bafana Bafana on September 6 and 10 as part of qualification for Morocco 2015. (goal.com)[eap_ad_3]
