The Enugu Rangers top scorer was among the 23-man squad invited for Super Eagles’ double header against Congo DR and South Africa in next month 2015 African Nations Cup qualifying matches.
Osaguona said he was surprised to see his name in the Super Eagles list of invited players but added quickly that he will do his very best to justify the confidence reposed in him.
“The truth is that I wasn’t expecting the Super Eagles call-up though I’ve always put in my best each time I found myself on the field of play, I’ve always strive to justify my inclusion in any game.
“I strongly believe my invitation is strictly reward for hard work and I’ve vowed to give all it takes to make it counts positively.[eap_ad_2]
“I won’t allow the rare opportunity to cement a shirt in the team slips off my hands, I know the competition will be stiff among the invitees but I’m quite sure I’ll be up to the task.
“Now that I understand that hard work pays I’m going to double my efforts, work even harder in every other task I’m involved in.
“I’m certain not to let down those who considered me worthy for this rare Super Eagles call-up.
“It’s 100% good news to me, never expecting it and a surprise when it came but I’ve received it with both hands and I’m really excited,” said the former 3SC hitman to supersport.com.
Osaguona said Super Eagles stand a better chance qualifying ahead of group opponents for the biennial football showpiece in Morocco.
“Opportunity is quite bright for us picking qualification ticket ahead of other group members given the quality of players available for Nigeria but it’s sure not to come on a platter of gold, we’ve to work hard to earn it,” said Osaguona.
Super Eagles have a Nations Cup dates against the Congolese Red Devils on September 06 and four day after another clash against Bafana Bafana of South Africa in Cape Town. (supersport.com)[eap_ad_3]
