Abuja (Sundiata Post) – All Progressives Congress has dismissed the rumour making rounds that its National Working Committee (NWC) was unduly pressurized during the discussion on the report of the party’s screening and Appeal committee for the Osun West Senatorial election primaries.
Describing the rumour as untrue, the party in a statement signed by its National Publicity Secretary, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi said at no time did the Party’s National Chairman, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun say any of those statements that were attributed to him in the report.
“The media report is not a true account of what transpired at the meeting”.
“The NWC takes full responsibility for the decision it took on the matter and will not seek to transfer this responsibility to anyone else outside the national executive of the party”.
“Allegations that the NWC was pressured to act in the manner that it did should therefore be disregarded”, Bolaji added.
Sundiata Post recalls that the leadership of the party upheld the outcome of the screening panel which disqualified a serving commissioner, Senator Mudashiru Hussain.
The meeting of the Party’s National Working Committee (NWC) held on Monday 12 June, 2017 to discuss the report of the Party’s Screening and Appeal Committee for the Osun Senatorial election primaries of the APC
