ABUJA – The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) says 1,529,636 registered voters are expected to participate in the Adamawa State Governorship by-election scheduled for Oct. 11, 2014.
This is contained in a statement issued in Abuja on Friday and signed by Mr Kayode Idowu, the Chief Press Secretary to the INEC Chairman.
It stated that Adamawa State with a population of 3,178,950, based on the 2006 census, has 21 local government areas and 2,609 polling units, adding that 24,013 personnel, including security operatives were required for the election.
