Akure- The Ondo State Referees Council says over 30 of its senior members will participate in the National Physical Fitness Test holding at the National Stadium in Abuja between Dec.16 and Dec.19.
Fidelis Fabidun, Chairman of the council, disclosed this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Akure on Sunday.
Fabidun said the test would be for referees and assistant referees officiating in the premier and national leagues as well as for referees who passed grade one test in 2011.
“All senior referees across the country will be in Abuja today to participate in the annual national fitness test and we are ready for the test.
“While Junior referees across Nigeria will participate in the zonal physical fitness test in Ibadan.
“All referees are subjected to medical test before the event,” he said.
NAN reports that the test is aimed at preparing referees ahead of the coming football season.
Fabidun said that the test for referees from South-South and South-East would take place on Dec.14 and 15, while those from South-West would be for Dec. 15 and 16.
Test for those from the North-East and North-West will be held on Dec.16 and Dec.17, while that for the North Central is slated for Dec. 17 and Dec.18.
FIFA graded referees will have their own on Dec. 18 and Dec.19. (NAN)
