Oyekan donates jersey to All Stars FC

Lagos  –  As part of contribution toward growth of grassroots football in Lagos, Falade Oyekan, the Chairman of Lagos Divisional Football Association has donated a complete set of jerseys to All Stars FC of Jankara.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the jerseys were presented to the members at the Jankara Sports Complex on Monday in Lagos Island.

Oyekan said that the donation was in appreciation of the club’s commitment toward fulfilling its financial responsibilities to LDFA, stressing that it would spur other clubs to be committed.

“This is my own little way of supporting grassroots football as well as encouraging the other affiliated clubs within LDFA to wake up to their responsibilities,” he said.

Oyekan who is the Chairman Committee of grassroots development of the Lagos State Football Association (LSFA), said that LSFA had always been the initiator of comprehensive grassroots football development.

“When we talk of grassroots development LSFA has always been in the front.

“And as the chairman of grassroots committee, I will continue to work to further uplift the standards of grassroots football in Lagos,” he said.

Meanwhile Lukmon Yusuf, the chairman of All Stars thanked Oyekan for donating the jerseys to the team.

“I’m delighted to receive the jerseys as it will encourage other sports philanthropists to delve into similar ventures,’’ Yusuf said.

Yusuf then enjoined young players to work hard in order to build and advance their careers, urging them to embrace education while playing active football. (NAN)
