Oyo APC expresses confidence in chairman, demands apology from secretary

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in has passed a vote of confidence its Caretaker Chairman, Chief Akin Oke, describing him as a man of unquestionable integrity.

This is contained in a statement signed by its Assistant Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Ayobami Adejumo, made available to newsmen Wednesday in Ibadan.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the party in the state has been engulfed in crisis over alleged irregularities and manipulation of the congress’ list.

NAN recalls that the party’s caretaker secretary, Mr Mojeed Olaoya had Nov. 4 at a meeting in and through social media, accused the chairman of being fraudulent.

The statement noted that the APC during an emergency meeting held in Ibadan, condemned in its entirety, the behaviour of Olaoya.

disclosed that the party’s executive members in the state had called Olaoya to apologise in writing to both the chairman and the party.

The statement announced that the party resolved that Oke is trustworthy, efficient, hardworking, creative, prudent and with proven integrity, while restating full confidence in capability to lead.

said that the party had urged him to continue running its affairs pending the inauguration of new executives.
