Ibadan- The Oyo State Government on Tuesday presented cheque leaves worth N1.5 million to the families of late DSP Ikeogu Nwaogu and Cpl Emmanuel Olubunmi.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), reports that Nwaogu was before his death, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO), Agugu Police Station, while Olubunmi was attached to the state Joint Tast Force team in Ogbomoso.
NAN recalls that Nwaogu was killed in 2014 at Adekile area of Ibadan, while appealing to the youths of the area over a case of alleged kidnap, while Olubunmi also lost her life the same year.
NAN reports that a cheque of N1million was presented to the family of late Nwaogu, while five hundred thousand was presented to Olubunmi’s family.
Presenting the cheques leaves, Chief Moses Adeyemo, Deputy Governor of the state, said there was no amount of money that could revive the dead officers.
He, however, said that the state government would always appreciate their contribution to the security of the state.
Mr Leye Oyebade, the State Commissioner of Police, who received the cheques on behalf of the families, appreciated the gesture of the State Government.

He pledged the continuous commitment of the police in ensuring security of lives and property in the state. (NAN)
