Lagos – Nigeria will spring surprises at the forthcoming International Paralympic Committee (IPC) Athletics Grand prix in Dubai and Tunisia, a paralympian, Adesoji Adekunle, has said.
Adekunle, who is a gold medallist at the 2004 Paralympics in Athens, spoke to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Friday in Lagos.
The championship is scheduled for March 17 to March 20, while the second IPC Athletics Grand Prix is scheduled for March 24 to March 26 in Tunis, Tunisia.
Adekunle, presently the sprint coach, Para-athletics Federation of Nigeria (PFN), said that the country had quality athletes to qualify for the Paralympics.
The Paralympics is scheduled for September in Rio de Jainero.

“We have world record athletes like Laureta Onyenchwku in class F40 and world number four in 100m and number six in 200m her name is Lovina Onyegbule.
“Aside from these two athletes, we have good athletes that can do the country proud,” he said.
He also expressed confidence that the country would win medals at Paralympics, urging athletes not to relent in their personal training.
NAN reports that five male and two female athletes will represent the country in Dubai and Tunisia. (NAN)
