Abuja (Sundiata Post) – Erstwhile governor of Ogun State, Otunba Gbenga Daniel has informed that his political experience makes him the most qualified candidate for the National Chairmanship position of the People’s Democratic Party.
Gbenga said that having served as a chief executive officer of one of the most complex states in Nigeria and having supervised and won elections twice under the platform of the PDP, he is better equipped and most qualified to correct some of the mistakes of the near and remote past.
He stated this on Wednesday in Abuja at his officially declaration to contest for the post of National Chairman of the party which comes up on the 9th of December 2017.
In his speech titled, “Let’s start afresh – Together we can do it”, the former governor of Ogun State said he came to the conclusion after a careful analysis of the challenges confronting the PDP and on the strength of careful understanding of his personal ability to provide the needed leadership.
Well-wishers in their goodwill messages, advised the south west to reduce the number of candidates vying for the office from their region to increase their chances of success as party faithful were urged to join forces to build a better party
Describing Otunba Gbenga Daniel as a man of ability, able to unite the party and well liked, Former Minister of Aviation, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode in his passionate call to save the nation said, the party in a fight for our life, not just as a party but as a nation.
Senator Adeleke on his part, described Gbenga Daniel as an organiser and the choice to move the party forward and end all factions.
Otunba Gbenga Daniels who thanked his friends and well-wishers as well as followers for their support, reminded them that there will be a morning after the 9th of December.
Sundiata Post recalls that since the inception of the party, the south west has never held the chairmanship of the party.
