Yola – Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Adamawa has commended President Muhammadu Buhari over his renewed war against corruption.
Chairman of the party in the state, Chief Joel Madaki, gave the commendation on Monday in Yola while speaking to newsmen on the outcome of the party’s state and local government executives meeting.
Madaki said that corruption was among issues discussed at the meeting and that the party’s members were happy with the fight and wanted it to be executed without discrimination.
On the APC-led government in the state, Madaki said that the PDP would give it credible opposition, adding that the party would criticize it where necessary and praised it deservedly.
“We will support the state government where it is working for the progress of the state. We will oppose it vehemently where it is working against the interest of the people.
“We are going to come out with our party’s position on the state APC-led administration when it clocks 100 days in office”, he said.

He lamented the defection of some of his members to the APC, but said that some of them were trying to return.
Madaki disclosed that return to the party would not be automatic ‘’because of those that defected were responsible for the party’s lost in the state’’.
He also disclosed that Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, PDP’s gubernatorial candidate in the last general elections, had contacted the party executive in the state on his intention to vie for the position of the national chairman of the party.
“We are going to give him our full support,” he said. (NAN)
