Jalingo – The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) says it recorded a peaceful local government congress in Taraba.
The party said that the congress was conducted peacefully in the 16 local government areas of the state on Friday.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that no case of violence have been reported so far.
The PDP spokesman in the state, Alhaji Inuwa Bakari, said most of the local government areas adopted consensus candidates for convenience.
However, Bakari said that the election took place in some council areas of the state.
“In my local government, Sardauna, we have already adopted our consensus candidates.
“Many other types of councils have adopted this option for convenience and peaceful coexistence,” he said.
Bakari said the comprehensive list of all successful candidates would be ready by Saturday, May 7. (NAN)
