ABUJA (Sundiata Post) – In a bid to pacify the aggrieved and rally support for the newly elected National Working Committee (NWC) of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), ex-President Goodluck Jonathan on Monday afternoon paid an unscheduled visit to one of the candidates for the post of National Publicity Secretary, Prof Abubakar Sulaiman.
The former president thanked the candidate for his doggedness and passion for the party, and pleaded with him to accept the outcome of the election as the wish of God.
Jonathan was full of praises for Sulaiman, whom he admitted was apparently the most qualified person for the job.
Sulaiman in his response thanked Jonathan for the visit and his compassionate posture, saying that Jonathan is indeed a consummate leader worthy of emulation. “You have indeed inspired me more and I promised I will take to your advice”, Sulaiman said.
He added: “The party is ours and nobody or group of people can intimidate us out of the party.” He thanked other members of the former president’s entourage for the confidence and trust in him.
