PDP Crisis: Supreme Court Grants Makarfi Accelerated Hearing

Abuja (Sundiata Post) — The Supreme Court of Nigeria, on Thursday, granted an application for accelerated hearing and abridgement of time for Ali Modu Sheriff to file their respondents’ brief of argument on the Appeal against February 17, 2017 Court of Appeal Judgement in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

The Appeal was filed before the Supreme Court by the National Caretaker Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

“For the record, the motion heard and granted today (Thursday) was for Accelarated Hearing filled by the NCC led by Senator Makarfi; and the Defendants (Senator Sheriff’s Group) granted 21 days to file response,” the Makarfi-led faction said in a statement issued by its Head, Publicity Division, Chinwe Nnorom.

Meanwhile, the Supreme Court has slated May 4, 2017 for hearing of Senator Sheriff ‘s motion to strike out the suit.
