KADUNA (Sundiata Post) – The Kaduna State Governor, Ramallan Yero, has said unlike the All Progressive Congress (APC) that engages in crowd renting to project false popularity during its [pro_ad_display_adzone id=”10″]presidential campaign rally in Kaduna State, the supporters of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) were genuine.
He said no matter the antics of APC, the PDP will win the elections billed this month.
Yero made the disclosure when he fielded questions from newsmen at the Air Force Base while awaiting the arrival of President Goodluck Jonathan for PDP’s presidential rally.
“As you all know, Kaduna is a PDP state and has been since 1999. All we have to do is to ensure we maintain PDP status in the state.
“Don’t forget that Kaduna is the home of the Vice President, and some of the founding fathers of PDP are also from here”, Yero said.
On the attack of Jonathan’s convoy in some states in the North, the governor condemned the development, saying Kaduna youths had been sensitised against towing that path.
Yero added that the PDP campaign in Kaduna State had been peaceful and highly successful unlike the crisis-ridden campaign of APC.
Describing APC’s claims of being popular as fake, Yero said “most of the popularity of APC is on the roadside, many of whom do not have PVC’s.
“And then secondly, Kaduna is the centre of the North and many people who live in Kaduna are from other states. By the time the elections come most of them that have PVC’s will go back to their respective states to go and vote.
“And then sometimes all these APC’s crowd that you see are hired, so it is not the reality that you see. I can assure you, PDP by the grace of God will retain Kaduna State”, Yero said.
Meanwhile, the former Deputy Managing Director, of Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Mr. Andrew Yakubu has urged the youths to heed the President’s advice that his victory is not worth anyone’s blood.
While expressing happiness that Kaduna has the highest numbers of collection of the PVC’s, he said “we’ve been assured that by the end of next week, all the PVC’s would have been collected by voters. We are fully ready to vote the PDP at all levels”.
The former NNPC boss therefore called on the youths to shun violence and not allow themselves to be used by anybody to shed blood, just as he charged contestants to embrace the spirit of sportsmanship after the elections.
“Contestants should embrace the decision of the ballot box after the elections, congratulate and join hands with them in moving Nigeria forward because it is all about Nigeria and not about any individual” Yakubu said.
