Lagos- One of the six governorship aspirants of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Lagos State, Dr Modupe Chukwunenye, stepped down shortly before the delegates commenced voting on Monday.
Chukwunenye said at the Oregun venue of the primary election that she had joined the race to cater for the interest of non-indigenes but had decided to step down.
According to her, she has done a research on all the aspirants and would support whoever emerged as the party’s candidate.
Voting to elect the party’s flag bearer in the 2015 governorship election was underway by 8.00p.m.
Some 900 delegates are expected to vote at the election. (NAN)
