Sokoto – Sokoto State Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Ibrahim Milgoma, on Thursday commended the party supporters for the peaceful conduct of the local government congress of the party in the state.
Milgoma told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Sokoto that the peaceful conduct of the congress demonstrated the supporters commitment to promoting the ideals of the party.
The chairman said that the congress was successfully held in all the 23 local government areas of the state, adding that the party leadership was now focussed on conducting the state congress on May 10.
Milgoma assured that PDP stakeholders in the state would continue to promote the lofty ideals of the party at the grassroots.
He advised the new executive members of the party in the local governments to begin massive mobilisation to woo more support for the PDP.
According to the chairman, as members of the opposition, the party supporters must persevere, unite, and make sacrifices so as to remain relevant and make positive impact in future elections.
Milgoma warned the party supporters against all forms of violence, saying that as democrats, they must promote peaceful coexistence which was necessary for democracy to thrive.(NAN)
