ABUJA (SUNDIATA POST)- The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) said on Friday that the news of the death of Pastor Patience Eno, the wife of the Akwa Ibom governor, was devastating.
The party in honour of the deceased, directed that all its flags at the PDP’s National Secretariat, Wadata Plaza, Abuja be flown at half mast for a period of seven days.
These are contained in a statement by the PDP National Publicity Secretary, Mr Debo Ologunagba, on Friday, in Abuja.
Patience, wife of Akwa Ibom Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, died in a hospital on Thursday.
The PDP spokesman described the deceased as an “angelic personality”; a graceful and compassionate soul.
He also described her as God’s own faithful and trusted servant, who loved the Lord and devoted her life for the good and welfare of others with grace, humility and love.
“Indeed, Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria and humanity have lost one of our best and brightest.
“Mrs Eno was a dazzling star taken from earth to brighten the heavenly realm.
“She was an epitome of peace, very caring mother and dutiful wife; an enduring lesson in humility, love and selflessness.
“She lived as a pillar of support, dependable friend, companion and confidant to her husband in his service to God, Akwa Ibom and our dear fatherland,” he said.
Ologunagba said that the party commiserated with Gov. Eno in thoughts and prayers at such time of profound grief, recognising the pain and emptiness the loss meant to him.
“Our party prays to God to comfort the governor, the children, family, government and people of Akwa Ibom with His abiding grace and grant us all the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss,” he said.(NAN)
