Port Harcourt – Mr Anele Wachukwu, a chieftain of PDP in Rivers, said the party has no opposition in the state as it was a household party in all the nooks and crannies.
Wachukwu stated this on Wednesday in Port Harcourt in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), while speaking on the ongoing congress of the party.
He described PDP as the biggest political party in Africa, saying that its set back was a temporary one that would soon be history.
“PDP is on ground in not only Rivers but most of South-South and South-East states, with over 80 per cent membership strength.
“We are very rooted in Rivers that is why the party will always win in any kind of elections at any time in the state,’’ he said.
The party chieftain, who expressed optimism in the ability of the party to transform the state for the better, said that Gov. Nyesom Wike had delivered in less than one year.
Wachukwu called on Rivers people to continue to support the party, adding that only a collective effort of all stakeholders would bring about the desired development.
He explained that democratisation process was a people-oriented process, which required the collaboration of everyone for progress irrespective of party affiliations.
The politician urged Nigerians to exercise patience with the present APC-led Federal Government. (NAN)
