PDP postpones Northwest zonal congress

ABUJA – The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has postponed its Northwest zonal congress scheduled to hold on Saturday, November 20.

No reason was given for the postment.

However, a Wednesday late night statement by Col. Austin Akobundu (rtd), National Organizing Secretary, said “the decision was predicated on certain unforeseen circumstances that
would very likely affect the conduct of the congress.”

The statement reads: “The National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has, after extensive consultations, approved the postponement of the North West Zonal Congress of the Party earlier scheduled to hold on the 20th of November, 2021.

“The NWC urges all critical stakeholders, leaders and members of our party in the North West and indeed across the country to take note as new date would be announced in due course.”
