ABUJA – The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Monday in Abuja said that its Zonal Integration Committees had absolutely nothing to do with the party structures in states.
This is contained in a statement issued by Mr Olisa Metuh, the party`s National Publicity Secretary. [eap_ad_1] He added that the committee “ has no powers whatsoever to interfere with the composition and activities of the party`s state structures’’.
He further added that the party`s national leadership would ensure that the provisions of its constitution with regard to structure, roles and powers of party leadership at all levels were always respected.
“Members of the committees are indeed notable and respectable leaders of the party who know that it is not within their schedule to interfere with the party structures in the states,’’ he said.
He, however, added that the PDP National Working Committee (NWC) had set up an eight-man Caretaker Committee for Yobe State.
The committee, according to him, has Alhaji Sule Abdulkadir Doguwa as Chairman and Ahmad Sani Kaura as Secretary (NAN)
