Okpella (Edo)- Mr Pascal Ugbome, the PDP candidate for Edo North Senatorial District, on Sunday promised to improve on the economic well-being of the people in the senatorial district if elected.

Ugbome, who made the promise during his campaign tour of Okpell in Etsako East Local Government Area of Edo, also promised to provide “dynamic representation”.

“ I intend to improve on the economic well-being of my people in order to take them from where they are now to the next level, where their quality of living and environment will be improved upon,’’ he said

Ugbome said that he was passionate about the well-being of the people in the senatorial district.

“I am very passionate about improving on the qualities of the lives of our people; you cannot be talking of qualities of living when a man is poor.

“We are going to be looking at the empowerment in terms of making our people to look inward and unlock their God-given ability and talent.

“We have no business being poor in this part of the world because we are richly endowed in terms of natural and human resources,’’ he said.

The PDP Senatorial candidate bemoaned the inability of the past lawmakers to revamp the Ojirami Dam, which he said, was supposed to serve the entire Senatorial district.

“It will surprise you to know that there are some parts of this Senatorial district that lacked federal presence such as Somorika.

“We have the Ogirami Dam and the concept behind the dam is to serve water to Edo North and what you see now is many boreholes all over the place.

“If that dam is functioning, people will not have the cause to sink boreholes.

“Therefore, I will ensure that I make impact through qualitative representation and improve on the state of infrastructure in this Senatorial district if given the mandate”. (NAN)
