River State – Secretary to Makarfi-led People’s Democratic Party (PDP) faction, Sen. Ben Ndi-Obi, has condemned the alleged intimidation of Rivers state governor, Nyesom Wike, by the Nigerian Police.
He expressed his disapproval on Wednesday when he spoke to party members and supporters in Abuja.
According to him, there are reports of the police displaying the photographs of about N110 million bribe allegedly given by the state government to INEC officials during the last rerun election in the state.
The former Senator termed the allegation as gross attempt to embarrass a democratically elected government. He has, therefore, appealed to PDP members across the country to condemn and reject the act.
“Intimidation of the Rivers state government will not be accepted by this party. We will not sit back and allow the intimidation of a government that was democratically elected by the police.
“We stand 110 percent with the government and people of Rivers state,” he said.
